I have a 3-month old son who had become very reliant on a dummy very quickly (a path I didn’t want to go down but succumbed to pressure from family to use one), so getting rid of it was a priority of mine since the day I gave it to him!
My son would not settle to sleep without the dummy and I was constantly going in to put it back in when he spat it out. He was catnapping during the day and night times were just as unsettled. Our first consultation was when our daughter was a new born. Steph educated us on baby sleep and gave us a solid base line to work from. It was empowering to have this knowledge about babies, and how they slept! It gave us the confidence to create good sleeping habits for our daughter, and set the standard, for sleep being a priority from day dot! This was invaluable, and we had a great sleeper up until our daughter was about 5 and a half months old.
Our daughters sleeping took a turn, when she started at day-care. Our daughter was hit with sickness, after sickness, and the more times she got sick, the guiltier my husband and I felt. Unintentionally, as the weeks went on, my husband and I, created all sorts of bad habits! Fast forward 3 months, we were all sleeping in separate rooms, having broken sleep, and our daughter was no closer to feeling better. “Our daughter Sadie was a great sleeper from 8 weeks to 6 months, sleeping most nights all the way through. She then started day care in the middle of winter and soon after, fell ill with a cold that just never went away. From 6-months onwards, she (and therefore my wife and I) was getting very little sleep.
After completing the assessment forms, Steph provided as us with some great fundamentals to implement with Sadie. Her knowledge of child sleep behaviour was impressive and all the information she provided made a lot of sense.

After a few weeks, Sadie was not only sleeping better but he cold disappeared too. “My partner and I came to Steph, through a very grateful referral from a friend. My son had just turned 12 weeks old and I was at that point of complete exhaustion and frustration of not knowing how to help my son sleep.
Being a mother to a young baby and being a business owner, routine and being organized is imperative for me. I needed to work out how to put my son in a great routine, so that my partner and I could cope with work commitments and we could all be well rested and happy.
It was Steph’s kind and warm nature from first meeting that made me feel safe and knew she was the right sleep consultant for my family. Much like all human behavior being learned, so where great sleep habits for our son in which he is now thriving, healthy and so well slept. Steph’s service includes 10 days unlimited support, which was absolutely crucial to the success of the plan. Steph was at the other end of the phone and walked us through every step as well as answered all questions we had along the way. Steph gave me the encouragement, facts and confidence to follow the routine, which I couldn’t have done without her.
Before working with Steph, our son was sleeping in our room in a bassinet, often co-sleeping, he would wake up 4-5 times per night and was averaging only 1-2 hours of naps per day, being held only. By day 3 of the plan my son was self-settling, having 3 great quality naps per day (a total of 5.5 hours), in his cot, in his own room and only waking 1-2 times per night for a feed. I can’t believe the extraordinary changes in my baby in such a short time and every time he wakes from his naps he’s so happy! It is empowering to know I now have the skills to facilitate sleep for my son to help his develop and wellbeing.
Having a routine has allowed us to create a great lifestyle, knowing when he sleeps and that he can settle to sleep wherever we are has given our family freedom. On top of this, our son having a set bed time every night has given my partner and I quality time together, to enjoy a meal and relax. “I engaged Steph’s services to help with my 10-week-old baby girls sleep. We were in this vicious cycle of rocking her to sleep, using a dummy only for her to wake 30 mins later. This made for a very overtired baby and sleep deprived mother!
I was extremely apprehensive about using a sleep consultant at such a young age because it goes against everything I was told by society and health care professionals. So many people told me to just get through this time, it doesn’t last forever, and that she is too young to expect her to sleep for long periods of time.
Before Steph, Ava was sleeping short periods overnight and would end up in my bed every single night as I would get tired of getting up to put the dummy back in. When I approached Steph, she was so confident that she could help me, and to be honest I was still so apprehensive. From when I first contacted Steph it took me weeks to finally decide to start the process.
I fully committed to Steph’s sleep plan and did everything as she told me to. Whenever there was any doubt as to what I should do, I’d call or text Steph, send videos of what was happening, and she would coach me through each scenario as it occurred. There’s no way I could have done this without this constant support from Steph. It made me feel confident in what I was doing, that my baby was ok, that she would go to sleep, I just needed to allow her to adjust to her surroundings and fall off to sleep herself.
By the 3rd night, Ava slept through the night- 11 hours STRAIGHT! This has continued since, with some nights stretching out to 12. Her day naps are constantly improving, and she is now able to settle herself to sleep day and night with no dummy (we threw the dummies out on day 2). I’m now confident with our new routine and can depend on it to make sure that Ava gets the sleep she needs to develop and grow, and I no longer walk around like a sleep deprived Zombie!

“I contacted Steph when I was running out of my patience and I was so exhausted from more than 3 years of lack of sleep. I couldn’t remember when the last time was I had had 6 hours sleep without interruptions from my son (Fredrik). I used to think his bad sleep was caused by the fact he was premature at birth. He used to wake up every 45 mins until he was almost 2 years old. I thought things would get better by itself but no I was wrong.
His bedtime was so bad, he went to bed around 22.00-23.00 hours and up around 09.30 to 10.30 in the morning. We tried wake him up earlier, so he could go to bed earlier but it was unsuccessful. Also, I was extremely tired, so I put up with his own sleeping way. His moods were so bad, he was so tired all the time, his food intakes were not good, he could not play for long period without starting to hit and run around, his patience was short. I started to blame him for everything and I felt so bad about that.
One day I randomly asked Steph if it was too late to start sleep training at 4 years old and I have never looked back. Steph showed the gaps which I need to fill, she gave me the courage. I find Steph’s philosophy about sleep training is urgent, important but she does not push for everything to happen overnight but gives Moms and babies/toddlers time to adjust.
The good news is that Fredrik is now sleeping on his own bed, from 7.30pm to 6.30am. His moods have improved, and he is happier now and his mental development has been great since sleep patterns changed (even my Pilates instructor notices these changes). Thank You Steph for your help and for teaching me many great things about sleep.”
“THANK YOU! Thank you for turning our lives around. As a third time mum, I was dreading newborn/infancy stage as we had not long had a normal sleep routine with our older 2 boys. We struggled for months with both, going to sleep schools and having sleep consultants in at home. Both times it took weeks (months for first born) for them to “get it”, and even then, most nights were a struggle.
Our new baby boy Darcy was going so well until he was hospitalised with illness. After that, naps were non-existent, maybe 20 minutes max. Then he’d be awake for hours. I was at my wits end as to how to get back on track, and after weeks of this I had lost all confidence in my mothering and meeting his needs. I knew something had to change, I just didn’t know which way to turn. I posted a frustrated update on Facebook and a friend messaged me and suggested I contact you.

Within 2 days, Darcy was sleeping between 8 and 9 hours straight overnight, and within the week he was having 3 solid day naps……I had to wake him from one after 2.5 hours to go out! I did have a freak out the first time I didn’t follow the plan and Darcy was all over the place, but you again were so helpful and calming, making sure I knew what to do and always a phone call or text away.
